The Senior Games have started!
The Opening Ceremony of the Windsor-Essex County Senior Games was held at “Life After Fifty”, 635 McEwan Avenue, Windsor on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. 11:30 to 1:00 p.m..
Check out: Lifeafterfifty.ca for more information on the activities held at two sites; East Side Centre on McHugh Street and West Side Centre at McEwan Street. It was obvious this is a busy place for seniors with many activities going on each day.
The event was well attended (approximately 75 attendees). The games began with a Euchre tournament which the attendees were very excited to get started after the opening remarks, speeches, lunch, recognition of the sponsors and cake cutting. Chartwell Retirement Residences were the Platinum Sponsor and brought greetings to the attendees and gave a short speech about the fact that Chartwell offers a range of senior living options across Canada including independent and assisted living retirement homes, memory care, long term care and extended care residences.
Seacliff Heights is a gold sponsor for the games. Anne Halls was present for the opening to represent Seacliff Heights. She handed out pamphlets on our new rental apartment building to the attendees which provides much needed quality development for rental to seniors in the area. We also discussed Phase II of the development which is Seacliff Manor, a residential complex for retirement living, providing Assisted Living (AL), Independent Support Living (ISL) and Memory Care (MC) Program. Which will begin construction this summer.
We are excited to be a part of the Senior games and we wish all the participates the best of luck in their tournaments!
